CCUK supports those effected by cancer, at whatever stage of the cancer journey they are on. Ultimately, our ambition is to stop people from travelling that journey at all.
On Tuesday, 16th June, we are holding our first Cancer Awareness and Prevention Sessions for staff at Barclays.
With an estimated 42% of cancer cases in the UK each year being linked to lifestyle factors, we know that information and education are key to early detection and prevention.
Our Cancer Awareness and Prevention Sessions will offer advice on health, wellbeing, diet, and lifestyle. We will also provide attendees with information on what symptoms to look out for, and when to visit the GP.
Mark Roberts, CEO said, “With statistics proving that almost half of cancers are preventable, it’s so important that we all know what signs and symptoms to look out for . We know that our health can slip down the priority list with family and work life keeping us so busy day to day. That’s why we want to make it easy for you and your colleagues. All we ask is that you come along for half an hour and allow us to give you the practical help and advice that could well save your life. ”
We are taking the sessions to workplaces across the UK. Over the next six months, we expect 5,5000 people will benefit from these important and informative sessions.
If you would like us to host as session in your workplace, please get in touch with the charity office on 0161 771 2040.
